Last week, Fulbright Denmark hosted a Wrap-up Event for the remaining American Fulbrighters in Denmark.

It is almost time to say goodbye to the final remaining American Fulbrighters in Denmark. For the past 10 months, we have enjoyed getting to know the American students and scholars and to learn more about their various academic fields. At the final wrap-up event, we were joined by the Chair of Fulbright Denmark, Pernille Ulrich, and Board Member and Treasurer of Fulbright Denmark, Ajay Rao, for a sit-down lunch and a discussion about their experiences as  Fulbright grantees.

“I realize about once a week that I’m living in Copenhagen on a Fulbright Grant and I have the opportunity to become an expert in my field as a member of one of the most recognized international programs in the world. And then I realize it’s a lifetime privilege.”

– Colin Olson (2021-2022), U.S. student

Grants for Americans

The Fulbrighters received a Certificate of Completition in recognition of their successful completion of the Fulbright Scholarship Program, and they were given the opportunity to share more about their research and discuss their favorite aspects of being Fulbrighters in Denmark.

“I have had so many questions about everything from opening a bank account to acquiring a booster shot of the vaccine, and the Fulbright staff has answered every question – even the dumb ones – with thoughtful, thorough advice and direction.”

– David Vizgan (2021-2022), U.S. Student

While it is always sad to say goodbye and we wished that we could have been joined by all of the American Fulbrighters from the academic year of 2021-2022, we are excited to follow everyone’s continued academic journey as we have no doubt that they will go on to do great things in their fields. At the same time, we look forward to meeting the next group of American Fulbright students and scholars for the academic year of 2022-2023 in August.
