Today marks the start of the seminar series which focuses on climate change and environmental sustainability.
The Gilman Climate Leaders Seminar is hosted by the U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program which enables American students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad. The virtual seminar series, which is hosted by Duke University, begins today with the first online session. The participants of these seminars will then be given the opportunity to apply for a fully-funded overseas in-person seminars in Denmark or the U.K.
The seminar in Denmark, will be hosted by Fulbright Denmark and Study Abroad in Scandinavia (DIS) in Copenhagen from June 6 – June 12, 2022. Copenhagen is working hard to become the world’s first carbon-neutral capital by 2025 and fossil-fuel-free by 2050. During the seminar, attendees will learn about novel approaches to sustainability from a Danish perspective, as well as hear from stakeholders who are shaping current and future climate change solutions.
We look forward to hosting the Gilman Climate Leaders Seminar alongside DIS. Read more about the virtual and in-person seminars at the Gilman Program’s website.
