Solar Energy and the Super Black in Peacock Spiders

How can the super black color of a peacock spider help us design better and more effective solar-capture devices?

Danish Fulbrighter Nikolaj Mandsberg has helped answer exactly this question in a research project collaboration with American researchers at John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Harvard University.

“Engineered microlenses could eventually help prevent glare on eyeglasses or enhance the absorbency and efficiency of solar energy cells.”
