IIE og ECA offentliggør tal over internationale studerende i USA og amerikanske studerende i udlandet

“In celebration of the 16th annual celebration of International Education Week, IIE and ECA will release the findings from Open Doors 2015, the annual report on student mobility.

The total number of international students in the U.S. increased by 10% in 2014/15, which is the highest rate of growth in 35 years. The total is a record high of 974,926 students. In addition, the total number of students from Europe and Eurasia studying in the U.S. grew by 4.3%, a big jump over last year.  The number of Americans studying in the region grew by 5.2% and Europe remains the leading destination for American students studying abroad.  Thank you all very much for the role that your ongoing efforts have played in increasing this mobility.  We are so proud of your work and this year’s numbers.

Here are a few newsworthy facts about international students in the U.S.:

2015 WORLD TOTAL: 974,926  +10%, the highest rate of growth in 35 years.
EUROPE: 90,625  +4.3% from the previous year
Denmark:  1,602  +9.0% from last year

Also, the number of U.S. students studying abroad reached a record high:

U.S. Study Abroad: 304,467 more than tripling over the past two decades
EUROPE: 162,282 which is more than 53% of all U.S. students studying abroad
Denmark: 3,545  +7.4% from last year”
