Policy on AI Use in Applications
Applicants must ensure that their application materials reflect their own original work, voice, and perspective. While grammar or spell-check software may be used, reliance on generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Bard, etc.) to draft or substantially edit applications is discouraged. The use of such tools risks undermining authenticity and may result in disqualification.
If applicants do choose to use such tools in a limited way – for example, to brainstorm or polish phrasing – they must disclose this clearly in their application. The Fulbright Denmark selection committee evaluates applications not only for content but also for authenticity and personal expression. Failure to disclose the use of AI may therefore be considered a breach of trust and could impact the evaluation of the application.
Prospective Fulbright participants should be aware that public health conditions, availability of consular services and travel, as well as U.S. institutional operating status and policies may affect their ability to travel to the U.S. and participate in academic programs.
